Saradha Koirala studied English literature at Otago University before training as a secondary school teacher in Wellington. She has a Nepali father and a Kiwi mother who encouraged her at an early age to get out of sticky situations with wordplay and well-timed wit. In 2007 Saradha completed a Masters in Creative Writing from Victoria University. Her poems have appeared in Sport, the Lumiere Reader and Turbine. This is her first book.
